Position Description – Age Group Co-ordinator
Position Title: Age Group Co-ordinator (AGC)
Reporting To: Schoolboy Committee
Purpose: The primary purpose of this role is to assist the schoolboy committee in organising and maximising benefits from our allocation of resources to your specific age group and to act as a liaison between the schoolboy committee and teams within a designated age group, also to assist in any way possible with the appointed team managers and coaches at that age group. The Age group co-ordinators role is preliminary one as direction, help and support to the age group.

Special Conditions: To work as part of a team in the delivery of the clubs development programme with appointed Managers, Coaches and Head Coaches.
Responsibilities and Duties:
General:
- To ensure the club policy is adhered to and to Promote development and community within squads.
- To address and support key areas such as:
- Player/Parent management
- Leader and coach development
- Implementation of seasons plans
- Finance/fundraising
Specific:
- Assist the head Coaches to monitor player numbers within each team and move players between squads to ensure every player reaches their full potential in line with club and league policies.
- Each age group co-ordinator must ensure all Managers and Coaches within an age group work together as a unit, and facilitate this objective by keeping all managers and coaches at that age group in regular contact and organising regular meetings to achieve club objectives.
- To assist with the registration process and team selections for any new members joining the age group during the season.
- The AGC should observe each team on occasions and watch for signs of unacceptable behaviour by players, parents or leaders. If this becomes a trend it should in the first instance be discussed with the relevant manager and an action agreed.
- The AGC will agree with each of the managers at an age, standards to be followed in respect of aspects such as first aid, player gear for matches, match days, training, club fund raising activities, registration payments, etc, in line with club policies.
- The AGC will identify where a team is short of resources or has leader-coaching development needs and assist in helping to solve.
- The AGC will complete a brief written report in a preset format for the schoolboy Committee at the end of Sep, Nov, Feb and April dealing with activities, actions, resolved issues, unresolved issues we need to be aware of and any assistance needed.
- The Club Treasurer will keep the AGC informed on his age group’s performances on fundraising and registrations, the AGC will assist team manager involved to resolve any matters arising.
- The AGC will assist in identifying parents who have potential to assist the club in any fundraising activities or potential volunteers as required.
- We will be adopting a new complaints/grievance process for parents and players. This will state that team managers are the first point of contact for such issues with the AGC being the second.
- The AGC will help to see that the programmes set out by the Director of Coaching are implemented.
- The AGC must ensure all teams adhere to the code of ethics as laid down by the club and follow procedures therein
- To support the club, our Executive board members, Committees, leaders, Managers, Coaches and Players in a positive and constructive fashion at all times.
